Tinubu Reconstitutes Governing Council, BoT Of HYREP

President Bola Tinubu has reconstituted the Governing Council and Board of Trustees of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYREP). The Minister of Environment will serve as the Chairman of the Council, with members including representatives from environmental organizations, the Niger Delta community, and Ogoni Community.

The new Council will have nine states represented, with additional alternative members also appointed. Tinubu also reconstituted the HYREP Board of Trustees, with stakeholders from the Ogoni community, Niger Delta community, and NGOs dealing with environmental issues.

The reappointments and new appointments aim to strengthen the project's leadership and ensure effective remediation of pollution in the region.
