Tinubu Nominates Dr. Zainab Marwa for NDDC Board

President Bola Tinubu has formally requested the Nigerian Senate to confirm Dr. Zainab Marwa as a member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board.

This nomination is to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Abdulrazak Namda, who stepped down to pursue a governorship ambition in Adamawa State. The request was communicated in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session on Thursday.

Tinubu's nomination is in accordance with Section 2 of the Niger Delta Development Commission Establishment Act, which empowers the president to appoint board members subject to Senate confirmation. The president expressed hope that the Senate would consider and confirm Marwa's appointment, which is essential for ensuring continued representation of the North East zone in the NDDC.

The Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission has been mandated to screen the nominee and submit a report within two weeks for further deliberation and possible confirmation.
