Tinubu Requests Senate Confirmation for Dr. Marwa at NDDC

President Bola Tinubu has formally sought the Senate's confirmation of Dr. Zainab Marwa as a member of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board, representing the North East geopolitical zone.

This request was communicated in a letter read on the Senate floor on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The nomination aims to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Hon.

Abdulrazak Namda, who stepped down from the board on March 30, 2026, to pursue the Adamawa State governorship election. In his letter, Tinubu urged the Senate to consider the confirmation of Dr.

Marwa to ensure full representation of the North East on the NDDC board. Following the reading of the letter, Akpabio referred the nomination to the Senate Committee on NDDC for further legislative scrutiny, with a report expected within two weeks.

Additionally, the Senate announced a format for committee review of a bill to strengthen legislative coordination.
