Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation for New Housing Minister

President Bola Tinubu has formally requested the Senate to confirm Dr. Muttaka Rabe Darma as the new Minister of Housing and Urban Development, following the appointment of Darma to replace Ahm Dangiwa.

This request was communicated through a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and was read during a plenary session on Wednesday. Akpabio subsequently referred the request to the Committee of the Whole for consideration.

He assured the Senate that they would carry out the confirmation process expediently once the nominee has cleared security agencies. Additionally, the letter from President Tinubu also sought the Senate's confirmation of Lamido Abubakar Yuguda, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and requested that this matter be referred to the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Financial Institutions, with a timeline of one week for the submission of the report.
