Tinubu Meets Plateau Attack Victims at Jos Airport

President Bola Tinubu met with victims of the Plateau attack at Jos Airport on Thursday, following public outcry regarding his delayed response to the violence that resulted in numerous casualties. His spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, explained that the meeting was part of a strategic engagement to address the root causes of conflict and insecurity in the state.

Tinubu's itinerary included a meeting with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, which caused delays in his schedule. Upon arrival in Jos, logistical challenges prevented him from traveling into the township, leading to the decision to meet victims in a hall adjacent to the airport.

The visit included interactions with local leaders and a commitment to deploy 5,000 AI-enabled cameras to enhance security. Despite criticism, Tinubu's administration emphasized the importance of high-level engagement to stabilize the area and promised justice for the victims.
