Tinubu Summons Aiyedatiwa Over Ondo APC Killings

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu summoned Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in response to the alleged killings during the APC ward congress in Akure North Local Government Area, where four lives were reportedly lost. Aiyedatiwa departed the state capital, Abuja, on Thursday, March 1, 2023, to attend to the situation following the congress held on Wednesday.

The governor was also scheduled to inaugurate a water supply project at the Federal University of Technology Akure and attend his one-year anniversary in office. Although it was reported that Aiyedatiwa met with the president, there was no official confirmation.

Meanwhile, security agencies have intensified operations following the abduction and killing of Oba Kehind Jacob Faledun, a traditional ruler in Agamo town, by suspected gunmen on February 18, 2026. The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, led a high-powered delegation to assess the situation and assured residents that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
