Tinubu Urges North-East Governors to Combat Insecurity

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu called on the governors of the six North-East states—Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe—to intensify their efforts in combating terrorism and banditry. This appeal was made during a meeting with a delegation led by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Tinubu stressed the importance of collaboration between the Federal Government and state authorities to restore peace in the region, acknowledging the significant security challenges faced. He expressed optimism about Nigeria's economic future, declaring the country had entered a "golden age" of stability and growth.

Tinubu also reaffirmed his commitment to improving infrastructure in the North-East, referencing the ongoing Akwanga-Bauchi-Gombe-Biu-Maiduguri Superhighway project. Additionally, he addressed pension issues, assuring that his administration was working to resolve inherited liabilities.

Governor Zulum noted that the delegation's visit was to thank Tinubu for retaining Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
