Tinubu Calls for Collaboration with Northern Rulers on Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions to advance peace, security, and sustainable development across Nigeria. This statement was made during the 8th Executive Committee meeting of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council (NTRC) held on Monday in Jigawa State.

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris conveyed the president's message, recognizing the strategic role of traditional rulers in promoting peace and unity. Idris commended the NTRC, led by Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, for its contributions to peace and development in Northern Nigeria.

He noted that peace is foundational for development and that traditional rulers are crucial partners in mobilizing communities. The administration aims to address underlying issues such as poverty and unemployment that fuel insecurity, with various economic initiatives planned to create jobs and improve livelihoods.

The federal government is also focusing on significant infrastructure projects to enhance economic opportunities and connectivity across the nation.
