Tinubu Vows to Combat Terrorism, Ensure Safety in Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu declared that terrorism will not defeat Nigeria and pledged to ensure the safety of all citizens. In response to recent attacks in Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, he instructed the armed forces, Nigeria Police, and Department of State Services to initiate a coordinated rescue operation for the victims.

Tinubu expressed outrage over the abduction and killing of innocent citizens, directing service chiefs to provide regular updates on the rescue efforts. He extended condolences to the families of victims and reassured the people of Niger State that the Federal Government would support recovery and security measures.

Additionally, the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, reported a significant increase in terrorist surrenders, indicating heightened pressure on terrorist groups. The number of surrenders rose from over 50 to more than 150 within a week, attributed to intensified military operations.
