Tinubu Orders Rescue of Abducted Worshippers in Niger

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed an immediate rescue operation for worshippers abducted by terrorists during Juma’at prayers at four mosques in Dekara, Kpenya, Sabon-Gida, and Gidan-Zana communities, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The abduction occurred last Friday when terrorists invaded the mosques and took control while prayers were ongoing, leading many worshippers into the forest.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, conveyed the President's outrage over the incident, condemning the attackers as enemies of peace and humanity. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and assured that the nation shares their grief.

President Tinubu emphasized that the Federal Government would support the Niger State Government in recovery and security efforts and directed the Service Chiefs to provide regular briefings on the progress of the rescue operation until all abducted individuals are accounted for.
