Tinubu Directs Acting IGP Disu to Enhance National Security

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu issued a directive to Acting Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu to restore peace and enhance security throughout Nigeria. This order was given during a decoration ceremony at the State House in Abuja, following the retirement of Kayode Egbetokun, whose appointment is pending ratification by the Nigeria Police Council.

Tinubu emphasized the critical need for the police to rebuild public confidence in their capacity to maintain law and order. He urged Disu to advance the security pillars of his administration's renewed hope agenda, expressing confidence in Disu's leadership capabilities to tackle challenges such as banditry and terrorism.

Disu committed to galvanizing the morale of the Nigeria Police Force and stressed the importance of public cooperation in overcoming security threats. He also highlighted the need for strict adherence to human rights and a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the police force.
