Tinubu Urges Military to Protect Civilians Amid Attacks

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Armed Forces to intensify their efforts to protect civilians across the country, especially in response to recent attacks by Boko Haram in the Ngosh community of Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State. In a statement issued yesterday, Tinubu emphasized the urgency for military and security agencies to work on rescuing individuals kidnapped by terrorists.

He expressed condolences to the families affected by the recent attacks, which included military personnel caught in friendly fire during aerial operations against terrorists. Tinubu praised the military's swift response that resulted in the killing of numerous terrorists.

In contrast, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticized Tinubu's administration for allegedly prioritizing political opposition over tackling insecurity, describing the situation as deeply troubling. Atiku condemned the recent attacks and highlighted the government's inadequate response to the increasing violence across the country, suggesting that the administration is losing its grip on the fight against terrorism.
