Tinubu Calls for Swift Justice at New Court Complex Launch

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu urged judges to ensure swift and fair justice while commissioning the new Court of Appeal complex in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of a judicial system that is impartial and accessible to all citizens, stating that justice should be blind to tribe and financial status.

Tinubu highlighted that the compromised judicial system poses a direct threat to democratic stability. The new complex, which includes two large courtrooms and eight smaller ones, aims to alleviate congestion and improve the efficiency of case resolutions.

He instructed immediate repairs to the existing facilities and expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would enhance public trust in the rule of law. Tinubu commended Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for the project's timely delivery, which is expected to be completed by July 2024.

Monica Dongban-Mensem, the President of the Court of Appeal, noted that the new complex would significantly improve the pace of justice delivery, addressing the previous shortage of courtroom space.
