Tinubu's Concrete Road Initiative Prevents Aviation Tragedy

The concrete road initiative promoted by President Bola Tinubu has averted a potential tragedy in Delta State, according to David Umahi, the Minister of Works. A private aircraft reportedly experienced distress and was unable to land at Asaba Airport on Wednesday morning but successfully touched down on a concrete road constructed in the Ogwashi-Uku area, close to the state capital.

Umahi's media assistant, Franci Nwaze, issued a statement highlighting that the stable surface of the concrete road allowed the aircraft to stop without loss of life. This incident underscores the critical role of durable infrastructure in ensuring safety during unexpected situations.

The statement also noted that the Federal Government, under President Tinubu, continues to promote the use of concrete pavement for major roads nationwide, as concrete roads are designed to be stronger and more durable, capable of withstanding heavy pressure over long periods. The Federal Ministry of Works, led by Senator David Umahi, is currently overseeing several road projects across Nigeria utilizing concrete technology.
