Atiku Abubakar Calls Tinubu's Government a Security Failure

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has publicly supported the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in its recent declaration regarding national security, labeling President Bola Tinubu's administration a "360-degree failure." This statement comes in light of increasing insecurity in Nigeria, exacerbated by the recent abduction of school children and a teacher in Oyo State. Atiku expressed his alignment with CAN's concerns, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive review of the nation's security architecture to enhance intelligence gathering and inter-agency cooperation.

He noted that the current administration's shortcomings in combating terrorism, banditry, and violent crime directly reflect its failure to protect Nigerian citizens. Atiku commended the unity among various Christian denominations, including the Catholic Secretariat and the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, and urged faith-based organizations, particularly within the Muslim community, to demand accountability from political leaders.

He called on Tinubu to heed the urgent calls for action beyond mere rhetoric.
