Peter Obi Critiques Tinubu's Security Promises Amid Attacks

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, expressed his disappointment regarding President Bola Tinubu's failure to address insecurity in Nigeria, citing recent violent incidents. In a statement released on Monday, Obi pointed out that less than 24 hours after Tinubu's visit to Plateau State, a brutal attack took place in the Nyamgo Gyel community of Jos South Local Government Area, leading to the deaths of several innocent citizens. He also referenced attacks in Zamfara and Borno states, where a massacre in Borno left an entire community devastated and unaccounted for. Obi lamented the ongoing spate of bandit attacks across the country, which he believes contradicts Tinubu's assurances to protect lives and property. He emphasized that the government's primary responsibility is to maintain safety and security for its citizens, highlighting the grief in Nasarawa State where gunmen killed at least 11 people, forcing the community of Akyawa Udeg Kasa to flee.
