Obi Critiques Tinubu Over Rising Terrorist Attacks

Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate, criticized the Nigerian government for its failure to protect citizens in light of a surge in terrorist attacks. His remarks came shortly after President Bola Tinubu's promise that violence would not recur, which was contradicted by brutal attacks in Nyamgo Gyel, Plateau State, resulting in several deaths.

Obi pointed out that within 24 hours of Tinubu's assurances, violent incidents occurred, including the killing of at least 11 people and the abduction of 150 individuals in Kurfa Danya. He also referenced the Easter Sunday violence that left 17 people dead and highlighted the ongoing insecurity across Nigeria.

Obi condemned the government's inability to fulfill its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property, describing the situation as an emergency where Nigeria is "bleeding" and citizens feel increasingly helpless. He concluded with a call for change, insisting that a new Nigeria is possible.
