Akpabio Advocates Support for Tinubu's Economic Reforms

On Saturday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio addressed a high-level delegation from the Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly in Abuja, asserting that the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, are concrete actions necessary for Nigeria's economic repositioning. Akpabio emphasized that these reforms are not merely theoretical but essential steps toward achieving fiscal sustainability.

He noted that while the reforms initially posed challenges, they were necessary to redirect resources into critical sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Akpabio highlighted early positive indicators from these reforms, including improved revenue collection and increased investor confidence.

He called on Northern youths to actively participate in governance, stating they are "architects of today, not just leaders of tomorrow." Additionally, he mentioned that the 10th National Assembly is prioritizing reforms to enhance transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
