Tinubu's Aide Demands Investigation into El-Rufai's Claims

Bola Tinubu's special adviser has urged for a thorough investigation into former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai after El-Rufai's confession regarding a wiretap incident involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. This call for investigation was made during an interview on February 13, following El-Rufai's claims that the NSA ordered his arrest after he described a failed attempt to detain him at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on February 12.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain alleged corrupt practices related to the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and the Department of State Services (DSS). Tinubu's aide criticized El-Rufai's claims as amounting to an admission of illegal wiretapping, prompting reactions from various Nigerian figures, including Aina Dipo and Ayo Adebamowo, who condemned El-Rufai's actions.

El-Rufai's legal team has also criticized the alleged unlawful arrest attempt, asserting a lack of proper procedure in the security operations.
