Oluremi Tinubu Urges Music Stars to Support Local Traders

On Saturday, during the launch of a national community food bank program in Lokoja, Kogi State, Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, appealed to prominent music stars Burna Boy and Davido to establish charitable foundations aimed at supporting impoverished Nigerians. She encouraged them to prioritize assistance to petty traders and grassroots businesses over their luxurious lifestyles.

Tinubu defended her previous comments advocating for support of small-scale traders, emphasizing that they deserve greater attention and assistance. She acknowledged that while there is nothing wrong with owning luxury vehicles, it is essential for the wealthy to uplift struggling Nigerians.

Additionally, she recounted the story of a university graduate in Abuja who resorted to selling akara after failing to secure a job. Tinubu presented grants of 50,000 Naira to 2,000 petty traders in Kogi State as part of the initiative to empower small businesses and improve livelihoods.
