NNPCL Urges Vigilance Against Saboteurs in Host Communities

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has charged host communities along the Trans Niger Pipeline (TNP) to maintain vigilance against economic saboteurs. Mr.

Akponim Omojewvh, head of field operations for the Eastern Corridor at NNPCL, made this statement during a stakeholders' meeting focused on pipeline infrastructure in Bayelsa State. He noted that while there have been no infractions in Bayelsa State over the past six months, increased vigilance is necessary to sustain this zero-infraction rate.

Omojewvh urged communities to promptly report any suspicious activities around the pipeline to the appropriate security agencies. He commended community leaders for their support and emphasized that early reporting can prevent damage to the pipeline.

The meeting also addressed recent attacks on the TNP, warning of severe environmental risks associated with such actions. Dr.

Akpo Mezeh and Dr. Jonjon Onyifi also participated, reinforcing the need for collaboration among stakeholders to protect this vital national asset.
