Alderweireld Urges Tottenham to Sign Osimhen for Goals

Toby Alderweireld, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, has called on his former club to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Alderweireld believes Osimhen's impressive goalscoring record makes him an ideal solution to Tottenham's attacking problems, which have persisted since Harry Kane's transfer to Bayern Munich in 2023.

He stated, “Victor Osimhen is a very good striker, and Tottenham Hotspur need a very good striker.” Alderweireld acknowledged that Tottenham is not the only club interested in Osimhen, but he argued that his experience should outweigh concerns regarding his age. He emphasized the need for a mix of proven players and younger talent, drawing on his experience at Ajax.

Currently, Tottenham, under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, is undergoing a squad overhaul and has already signed players like Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke. A move for Osimhen would require Tottenham to formally approach Napoli and commit to a significant financial package.
