Pastor Jerry Eze Joins Heirs Life Assurance Board

Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of the Streams of Joy ministry and the NSPPD prayer platform, has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Heirs Life Assurance, effective August 10, 2026. This appointment is part of a strategy to improve Nigeria's insurance penetration rate, which is currently below one percent.

Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, stated that Eze's extensive reach among Nigerians could help deepen financial inclusion and enhance public trust in insurance, an industry often met with skepticism regarding claims and payouts. Eze, who has a background in development communications with organizations like the World Bank and the United Nations Population Fund, holds degrees in History, International Relations, and Business Administration.

He has been brought in purely for oversight and strategic input, without holding any stake in the company. The initiative aims to utilize Eze's trusted voice to succeed where traditional marketing has failed, particularly in underserved communities.
