Nigeria's Q4 2025 Imports: Top African Trade Partners

In the fourth quarter of 2025, Nigeria's total import trade amounted to ₦17.25 trillion, indicating a significant demand for foreign goods, including petroleum products, vehicles, industrial machinery, food items, and raw materials. Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) highlighted that imports were concentrated among a small group of countries, showcasing Nigeria's continued reliance on foreign suppliers.

Notably, Ghana, South Africa, and Egypt emerged as Nigeria's leading African trade partners during this period. The report underscores the growing commercial links within the continent, coinciding with the ongoing implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The top ten African countries from which Nigeria imported goods in Q4 2025 included Uganda, which accounted for imports worth ₦12.60 billion, primarily consisting of tobacco, machinery, and various industrial materials.
