Ferran Torres Misses Barcelona Training for PSG Move

Ferran Torres, Spain’s World Cup hero, has received permission to miss training with Barcelona to finalize a move to Paris St-Germain (PSG). Initially scheduled to return to training on Wednesday, Torres will not participate as negotiations with PSG progress.

The transfer deal is anticipated to be worth over £40 million. Torres has one year remaining on his contract with Barcelona, and some fans have expressed frustration regarding his openness about leaving the club.

During a media tour in the United States after Spain's World Cup victory, Torres stated, “I have a contract with Barcelona but, in football, you never know.” He acknowledged the interest from PSG, managed by former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique, and remarked on the unpredictability of football. PSG is preparing for a Super Cup final against Aston Villa on Wednesday night in Salzburg.

Torres has been with Barcelona since 2022, following a two-year stint at Manchester City, and has scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain.
