Nigerian Ministry of Trade Generates $500m Export Revenue in 2025

The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment in Nigeria, led by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, reported a significant achievement of $500 million in export revenue in 2025.

Driven by industrial development initiatives, the ministry aimed to diversify the economy and enhance job creation. Despite financial constraints, the ministry's interventions supported policy reforms and improved performance in various commodity markets.

Dr. Oduwole highlighted the creation of 20,000 direct jobs across industries and trade-related activities in 2025.

The ministry's strategic approach included policy reforms, market access improvements, and institutional strengthening to sustain trade and industrial outcomes. The budget for 2025 totaled N11.8 billion, covering personnel and overhead costs, although fund constraints limited execution capacity.

The ministry prioritized infrastructure development, personnel costs, debt servicing, and recurrent expenditures, emphasizing sectors like power, transport, defense, education, health, and social intervention programs.
