Former Super Eagles Forward Michael Eneramo Dies at 37

Michael Eneramo, a former Nigerian international footballer, tragically passed away on Friday morning while playing in a friendly match in Ungwan Yelwa, Kaduna. Reports indicate that he collapsed on the pitch and appeared to suffer a cardiac arrest five minutes into the second half of the match.

Born on November 26, 1985, in Kaduna, Eneramo was remembered fondly by the Nigerian football community. Dr.

Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), expressed his condolences from Cairo, Egypt, stating that he hoped God would grant eternal rest to Eneramo and provide strength to the Nigerian football family during this difficult time. Eneramo had a significant career, earning 10 caps for the Super Eagles and rejecting overtures from Tunisia to represent Nigeria.

He made his debut against Jamaica on February 11, 2009, and scored his first goal for Nigeria in a friendly against the Republic of Ireland on May 29, 2009.
