Governor Nwifuru Condemns Murder of Ebonyi Monarch

Governor Nwifuru of Ebonyi State expressed deep grief and condemnation over the murder of Ezeogo Josephat Ikegwu, the traditional ruler of Ishinkwo Community in Onicha Local Government Area. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Mondai Uzor, Nwifuru described the killing as a "tragic and barbaric" act, emphasizing that it represents a direct attack on traditional institutions and peace in the state.

He extended condolences to the family of the late monarch and the people of Ishinkwo Community, assuring them that the government would take decisive action against the perpetrators. Nwifuru stated that security agencies are fully mobilized to investigate the murder and bring those responsible to justice.

He highlighted the importance of safeguarding human life and called on stakeholders, including traditional rulers and community leaders, to work together to restore peace and security across Ebonyi State.
