Governor Nwifuru Condemns Abduction of Ebonyi Traditional Ruler

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State reacted with deep concern to the abduction of traditional ruler Ezeogo Franci Igw from Ndufu Alik in Ikwo Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, with reports indicating that hoodlums were responsible.

Ezeogo Igw is the father of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr. Eric Kelechi Igw.

Governor Nwifuru described the abduction as deeply troubling and totally unacceptable, particularly as it targets a revered community leader. He assured the family and the people of Ikwo Local Government Area that the state government would activate security intelligence mechanisms to ensure the safe and prompt rescue of the monarch.

The governor emphasized that security agencies would work in synergy to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He urged residents, especially in Ikwo and surrounding communities, to remain calm and vigilant, providing information to assist security agencies during ongoing operations.

Nwifuru reaffirmed the government's commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
