Awele Elumelu Appointed Chairman of Transcorp Hotels, Succeeding Nnorom

Transcorp Hotels Plc, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp Group), has announced the appointment of Awele Vivien Elumelu as the new chairman, effective January 1, 2026, following the retirement of Emmanuel N. Nnorom.

Awele Elumelu brings a wealth of leadership experience from the healthcare, insurance, corporate governance, and philanthropy sectors. She is currently the chairman of Avon Healthcare Limited and Avon HMO Nigeria, leading health insurance providers.

A medical doctor by training, Elumelu has a strong commitment to social impact, evident through her roles at the Tony Elumelu Foundation, empowering young African entrepreneurs. Her appointment is expected to enhance guest experiences and stakeholder value at Transcorp Hotels.
