Awele Elumelu has been named as the new Board Chair of Transcorp Hotels Plc, effective January 1, 2026, taking over from Emmanuel N. Nnorom.

Awele Elumelu, with a background spanning healthcare, insurance, corporate governance, and philanthropy, currently serves as the Chair of Avon Healthcare Limited and Avon HMO, leading Nigeria's top health insurance provider. She is the wife of Tony Elumelu, the founder of Heirs Holdings Limited.

Awele Elumelu's appointment is expected to bring strategic insights and elevate guest experiences at Transcorp Hotels.
