Arsenal Signs Manchester United Youngsters for Academy

Arsenal has completed the signings of James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye from Manchester United as part of their strategy to enhance their academy and facilitate the progression of young players to the first team. Scanlon, who is set to turn 20 next month, joined Arsenal on Saturday, while Ogunneye, also 20 years old, was announced as a new signing the following day.

Neither player made a senior appearance for Manchester United but gained first-team experience during loan spells in League Two last season. Scanlon, an England-born winger who represents Gibraltar internationally, cited Arsenal's recent progress as a key factor in his decision to move.

Ogunneye, a right-back who spent last season on loan at Newport County, was attracted by Arsenal's history of promoting academy players. The recruitment of these players aligns with Arsenal's ongoing reliance on young talent from their Hale End academy, which has seen players like Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and Max Dowman advance to the senior squad.
