Chelsea Loses Out on Alajbegovic to Juventus for £34.2M

Chelsea has faced a setback in its transfer efforts for Bayer Leverkusen winger Kerim Alajbegovic, as Juventus has secured an agreement for the 18-year-old. According to Sky Germany, Juventus has reached an initial £28.2 million fee with Bayer Leverkusen, which could increase to £34.2 million with add-ons.

Chelsea was initially in a strong position to sign Alajbegovic and aimed to finalize an agreement over the weekend. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso, who had been impressed by Alajbegovic during his tenure in Leverkusen’s youth system, was involved in attempts to persuade the player to join Chelsea.

However, the deal with Juventus has shifted the dynamics, resulting in Chelsea losing out on the promising talent.
