Travellers Abducted in Plateau Regain Freedom After 20-Day Ordeal

In Plateau, victims, including men, women, and children, who were abducted while attending a Maulud event in Sabon Layi community in Bashar district, have been released after spending 20 days in captivity. The kidnappers initially demanded N1.5 million ransom per person but later reduced it to N30 million and requested three new motorcycles.

The victims' families managed to secure their release without paying any ransom. Youth leader Sapi Sambo of Wase LGA confirmed the successful rescue by DSS operatives.

Dauda Ibrahim, a parent of one of the kidnapped children, expressed gratitude for their safe return.
