Lagos State Searches for Rape Survivor Mirabel

The Lagos State Domestic Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has launched an urgent effort to locate a young woman named Mirabel, who reported being raped in her home. On February 15, Mirabel shared a tearful TikTok video detailing her traumatic experience, where she described being assaulted after opening her door to a stranger.

Following the attack, she experienced severe insomnia and turned to alcohol and drugs to cope. Mirabel later received a message from an Instagram account allegedly belonging to her attacker, who claimed to come from a wealthy family and suggested he could manipulate police investigations.

In a subsequent video, she revealed her struggle with mental health, stating she attempted to take her own life but was saved by a friend. The DSVA has acknowledged the public's concern and is actively monitoring the situation, appealing for credible information to assist in reaching Mirabel safely.
