Türkiye to Build Military Training Facility in Nigeria

Türkiye has agreed to establish a military training facility in Nigeria to enhance the country's defense capabilities and security architecture. This agreement was finalized during bilateral discussions between Nigerian Minister of Defense Christoph Musa and Turkish Minister of Defense at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The facility will serve as a long-term hub for training Nigerian armed forces personnel in specialized areas, including special operations, counter-terrorism, intelligence integration, and counter-drone operations. A temporary training site has been identified while a permanent coastal location is being established.

The partnership also includes technology transfer, defense industry collaboration, and enhanced border management intelligence sharing. The agreement aims to address evolving security threats and support Nigeria's disarmament and reintegration programs for former combatants.

The discussions included commitments to improve air power logistics and potential naval cooperation. The outcome of these talks is seen as a significant step forward in Nigeria-Türkiye defense relations.
