Troops Arrest Four Illegal Miners in Ebonyi State

Troops from the Nigerian Military apprehended four suspected illegal miners in Ebonyi State, specifically in the Ivo Local Government Area. These individuals were allegedly extracting mineral resources without the necessary authorization.

During the operation, the troops recovered a mini truck, heavy-duty cables, and an automotive battery. Major General Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, reported that the suspects were intercepted during the operation.

The troops faced aggression from local youths who attempted to obstruct the operation, resulting in the military firing two warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd and restore public order. The suspects have been taken into custody for prosecution, and no casualties were recorded during the incident.
