Troops Foil Lakurawa Attack, Recover Rustled Livestock

On March 19, at approximately 10:00 AM, troops from the 1 Battalion, in collaboration with Forest Rangers, thwarted a terrorist attack in Lakurawa, located in the Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The troops responded swiftly to the assault, causing the attackers to abandon their mission and flee towards the Niger Republic border.

Reinforcements from the Kangiwa Battalion Headquarters were subsequently deployed to conduct clearance operations in the Tukoyi Goru Village along the border area. During these operations, the troops apprehended one suspect and recovered 47 rustled goats.

The livestock is currently in the custody of the troops, who are continuing their operations to ensure the area is free from criminal elements.
