Police Arrest Bandits and Motorcycle Thieves in Kebbi

The Nigerian Police Force announced the arrest of bandits and motorcycle snatchers in Kebbi State, highlighting a series of operations aimed at addressing serious security threats, including armed banditry and cattle rustling. On April 29, 2026, police intercepted and arrested two suspects, Aliyu Hussaini (23) and Sani Abubakar (28), recovering 36 rounds of live assault rifle ammunition, a Bajaj motorcycle, and ₦264,000 in cash.

Further investigations revealed their involvement in terrorist activities. On May 1, a patrol team foiled a motorcycle snatching attempt, apprehending a suspect who inflicted serious injuries on a victim.

Additionally, on May 2, Ashiru Muhammad was arrested for a motorcycle snatch attack, confessing to conspiring with two others. The police reported significant recoveries from January to May 2026, including 10 AK-47 rifles, 1,200 rounds of ammunition, and 40 stolen GSM phones.

A total of 47 suspects were arrested for violent crimes, reflecting the commitment to enhancing security in the region.
