Troops Rescue Four Abducted Individuals in Gwoza

Troops from the Nigerian Army's Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai achieved significant success in their operations, rescuing four abducted individuals, which included two women, Salamatu Sidiq Ali (19) and Halima Idrisa (20), and two children, Umar Abdullahi (3) and Mustapha Abdullahi (4). These victims were abducted during a terrorist attack in the Ngosh community on March 3, 2026.

The rescue operation took place along the Ngosh-Amuda axis in the Gwoza Local Government Area, where the troops successfully intercepted and rescued the victims amid intense military pressure on the insurgents hiding in the Mandara Mountain area. Following a medical evaluation, the rescued individuals were confirmed safe and were reunited with their families.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the media information officer at the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, reported that a total of 65 abducted persons have been rescued, with ongoing efforts to secure the release of others.
