Nigerian Army Rescues 11 Kidnap Victims, Arrests Terrorist

The Nigerian Army reported significant operational success in its counter-terrorism efforts, rescuing at least 11 kidnap victims and arresting a suspected terrorist. The operations took place across various states, including Borno, Bauchi, and Yobe, within a 24-hour period.

Notably, troops apprehended a suspected ISWAP logistics courier in Borno State, who reportedly confessed to supporting insurgent activities. In Bauchi State, six kidnap victims were rescued, while in Yobe State, troops intercepted a truck carrying medical supplies intended for illicit cross-border movement.

Additionally, in Katsina State, a drug peddler was arrested with 487 grams of cannabis sativa. The operations also included thwarting cattle rustling in Plateau State, where 92 cattle were recovered, and illegal mining activities in Rivers State, leading to the destruction of illegal refining infrastructure.

The Nigerian Army emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and urged citizens to provide credible intelligence to enhance security efforts.
