Nigerian Troops Arrest Terrorist Suppliers and Miners

The Nigerian military, under the direction of Maj Gen Michael Onoja, has conducted a series of operations targeting terrorist suppliers and illegal miners across the North East and North Central regions. Notable arrests occurred in Mubi, Adamawa State, where suspects linked to previous attacks in Ngosh, Borno State, were apprehended.

Operations on March 20, 2026, led to the recovery of mobile phones and cash from an arms dealer in Taraba State. Further arrests included two terrorist informants on March 23 and a logistics supplier in Kaga, Borno State, where military personnel recovered motorcycle spare parts intended for terrorist use.

The military intensified operations in Kwara State following a terrorist attack on March 22, rescuing three victims. Additionally, on March 26, seven illegal miners, including four foreign nationals, were arrested in Niger State, where the military also discovered explosives intended for mining activities.

The operations are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt insurgent supply chains and combat illegal activities.
