Troops Recover ₦37m in North-East Terror Supply Crackdown

On February 16, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North East, under the Hadin Kai operation, intensified their crackdown on terrorist supply routes in North-East Nigeria. This operation resulted in the recovery of ₦37 million believed to be linked to terror funding.

The renewed offensive followed recent defensive engagements in Pulka, Madara, and Girau, with military efforts shifting focus towards crippling the logistical networks that sustain insurgent activities in the region. Troops conducted coordinated night ambushes along known cross routes used by elements of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) moving from Cameroon into Nigeria.

Insurgents reportedly attempted to conceal their movements but faced heavy enfilade fire from the troops, forcing their retreat. Although casualty figures were not immediately disclosed, the troops subsequently exploited the area, recovering caches of logistical supplies intended for terrorist resupply operations.

Military authorities noted that these actions significantly disrupted the insurgents' operational capacity in the area.
