Troops Arrest Two ISWAP Informants in Borno Operation

On Tuesday, troops from the 156 Task Force Battalion conducted an operation in Borno, apprehending two suspected informants linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). The arrests occurred in the Kaga Local Government Area after credible intelligence indicated suspicious movements within the Mainok general area.

The troops swiftly responded and intercepted the suspects as they moved toward Goni Masari. Upon their arrest, the suspects were found in possession of electrical cables, which raised suspicions of possible sabotage aimed at supporting terrorist activities.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigations to ascertain their roles and any potential links to terrorist groups. The operation underscores the importance of community-based intelligence in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts across northeastern Nigeria, reaffirming the troops' commitment to denying terrorists the freedom to operate in the area.
