Troops Arrest Two ISWAP Informants in Borno State

On Tuesday, troops from the 156 Task Force Battalion arrested two suspected informants linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation was disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Thursday, who cited credible intelligence regarding suspicious movements within the Mainok general area.

The suspects were intercepted while moving toward Goni Masari and were found in possession of electric cables at the time of their arrest, which raised suspicions of possible sabotage in support of terrorist activities. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigations to ascertain their roles and potential links to terrorist groups.

The operation highlights the importance of community-based intelligence in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the northeast region of Nigeria, reaffirming the troops' commitment to denying terrorist groups freedom of action within the area.
