Nigerian Troops Prevent Communal Clash in Benue State, Three Civilians Killed

Nigerian troops, led by Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, averted a fresh communal clash in Benue State on October 8, 2025, following reports of hostilities between neighboring communities. The troops engaged armed elements dressed in black, believed to be outlaws, who fled into nearby bushes.

During the operation, the troops recovered ammunition and engaged in a firefight, resulting in three civilian deaths and one injury. The wounded victim was evacuated to a hospital, while the deceased were deposited in the hospital mortuary.

Major General Mose Gara commended the troops for their swift response and urged community leaders to embrace dialogue to maintain peace in the region.
