Troops Detonate IED in Borno Community on April 17

On April 17, 2023, troops operating in Borno State discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mairari town along the Gajiram axis. The explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team detected the device at approximately 9:00 AM, which was located near the exit gate of the town, raising significant concerns regarding potential threats to civilian security.

Following the discovery, the EOD team was deployed from a forward operating base to carry out a controlled detonation of the device, which was executed without any incidents. A thorough scan of the surrounding area was conducted to ensure no additional explosives were present.
