Troops Foil Boko Haram Ambush in Borno State

Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, part of Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI, successfully foiled an ambush by suspected Boko Haram terrorists along the Buni Gari-Buratai axis in Biu Local Government Area, Borno State. During a routine patrol, the troops encountered the terrorists and responded effectively, compelling the attackers to withdraw.

Following the engagement, reinforcements were deployed to clear the ambush site and conduct further operations in the vicinity. According to Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, the troops recovered a motorcycle, bicycles, a magazine, ammunition, and rocket-propelled grenade bombs.

No casualties were reported among the troops, although some military vehicles incurred damage. The military confirmed that the troops remained operational and completed their mission successfully.

They urged local residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to relevant security agencies, highlighting the critical role of public information in countering terrorist threats.
