Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Rescue Workers in Katsina, Kebbi

On August 14, troops from the Joint Task Force, led by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, responded to reported terrorist activities in Kankia Local Government Area, Katsina State. They engaged in a fierce firefight, neutralizing two terrorists and recovering one AK-47 rifle along with a magazine.

In a separate operation under Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV in southern Kebbi, troops acted on a distress call regarding the abduction of construction workers at Tsatsunbe village. The rapid deployment of troops forced the terrorists to abandon their captives and flee, leaving behind three motorcycles.

All construction workers were successfully rescued and returned to their camp, although one worker sustained an injury during the incident and was evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment.
