Troops Neutralize Bandits, Arrest Fake Security Operatives

Troops from the Nigerian Army successfully neutralized three bandits and arrested two individuals impersonating security operatives in Plateau State. The operation took place around 11:45 PM when troops responded to a distress call regarding sporadic gunfire in the Duts Uku area of Jos North LGA.

Captain Polycarb Oteh, the spokesperson for the operation, reported that the two suspects were apprehended while dressed in tactical black uniforms and actively participating in arson and violence against local properties. The arrested individuals are currently in custody, with two sustaining gunshot wounds and receiving medical attention.

The troops also disrupted a large-scale movement of terrorists traveling via motorcycles, forcing them to flee during the engagement. This operation was part of a broader strategy initiated by the Chief of Army Staff to combat criminal elements that tarnish the image of the armed forces, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
